A story written with the elegance of the Bosphorus… One of Istanbul’s most majestic and romantic buildings, Küçüksu Pavilion (Küçüksu Kasrı) is a unique choice for couples looking for a fairytale atmosphere for their photoshoot.
Set right on the water, the pavilion creates a stage that is both romantic and grand, thanks to its ornate façade, symmetrical architecture and the way it plays with light. The reflections on the water and the historic textures give the photographs a timeless depth.
Highlights
- Bosphorus views and waterfront compositions
- Ornate, symmetrical Ottoman architecture
- A romantic, majestic atmosphere
- Soft, balanced frames in the morning light
Photographer’s note
At Küçüksu, wide compositions that use both the water and the architecture give the most striking results. We usually plan our shoots here for the morning: later in the day the façade we photograph falls into shadow, and in the afternoon it gets harsh, direct sun. Since the pavilion does not allow shoots after 4 pm, the morning hours work best.
