North of Istanbul, not far from the city’s crowds yet an entirely different world: Belgrad Forest. Known for the historic dams and reservoirs that carried water to Istanbul for centuries, this vast forest is today one of the city’s best-loved escapes into nature.
Trees reaching for the sky, paths covered in leaves and pine needles, and in the silence only birdsong. Here nature sets the stage: the soft light filtering through the trees brings the white of the gown together with the warm tones of the forest floor, creating fairytale, cinematic photographs.
Highlights
- Forest paths lined with tall trees reaching for the sky
- Soft, natural light filtered by the trees and frames full of depth
- Colours that change with every season: the fresh green of spring, the warm tones of autumn
Photographer’s note
As Belgrad Forest is a public nature area, it can be busy at weekends; weekdays and early mornings are calmer and more beautiful in terms of light. The ground in the forest is partly earth and leaves, so we recommend choosing your gown and shoes with this in mind. We also recommend confirming the current conditions for entry and professional shoots before your date.
